About me.
I have been working on IT since 1990 and with Server Based Computing technologies (Citrix/TS) since 1994-1995 when Citrix had only an OS/2 based product.
In 2001 I became the first person ever to be awarded the Microsoft MVP award specifically for Terminal Services, based on my contributions to the community, not only in newsgroups but also on articles and tools I developed.
At around the same time I started a company called Terminal-Services.NET and during that time we developed, among many things:
- The first and only RDP client for DOS ever.
- The first resource based load balancer and gateway for RDP (WTSGateway Pro).
- The first RDP filtering product (SecureRDP).
- The first low cost published application/seamless windows engine for Windows 2000 and 2003 TS (WTSPortal).
Terminal-Services.NET was acquired in 2005 by 2X Software Ltd., and most of their products were based on the intellectual property they acquired from us. :-)
Not happy, I moved forward with new ideas and in 2006 I started a new company, TSFactory Inc. By the end of the year we had released the first ever session recorder for Terminal Services AND Citrix ICA! If you have heard about Sarbanes Oxley, HIIPA and other regulations you probably know what this means!
Imagine recording everything consultants do remotely on your servers or simply what every single user is doing on a terminal server and being able to play this back at any time, today or five years from now. Fast forward, export to flash, idle detection, etc it is all there!
And this year I started WTSLabs Inc., a small company completely focused on TS/Citrix. We are now developing many very interesting (not to mention affordable) tools for Terminal Services that will make your life way easier!
During the meantime to keep me busy I work as a consultant, specifically on Terminal Services/Citrix projects and I have traveled around the globe helping companies deploying TS/Citrix properly. Trust me, it is not as simple as 'Next', 'Next', 'Finish'.
Here on Experts-Exchange I became the first person ever to achieve the Sage rank especifically on Remote Desktop/Terminal Services!
And for my everyday activities, after finishing my work for a Canadian Government Agency with a 50,000 concurrent user Citrix environment, I am now helping the well known Red Cross on planning and deploying a 1,400 Citrix environment. But I helped many companies with 5 or 10 users. So if you need me, do not worry if you have one or two servers.
