With over 19 years of amature programming (from Dragon32 basic via Devpac2 on the ST to Assembler, Pascal, C, C++, Delphi and most recently Java)

Professional programming;

* 1 year coding real-time critical alarm servers for CERN (http://www.cern.ch) in C on LynXOS
* 3 years coding Expert Systems, knowledge mappers, and Association tools at Attar Software (http://www.attar.com)
* 2 years coding decision tree based web applications and multiple-device template-based app servers for Team Netsol (http://www.teamnetsol.com)

Currently, I'm working at the Paterson Institute for Cancer research (http://bioinformatics.picr.man.ac.uk), where we work on;
   
* Affymetrix Microarray analysis (http://bioinformatics.picr.man.ac.uk/mbcf/index.jsp),
* Transcript and gene mapping (http://bioinformatics.picr.man.ac.uk/adapt/Welcome.adapt)
* MIAME compliance (http://bioinformatics.picr.man.ac.uk/mvice/index.jsp) and
* Quality Control using "simpleaffy", a BioConductor package (http://bioinformatics.picr.man.ac.uk/simpleaffy/index.jsp)
* A Genome browser based on Google Maps, showing genes and exons (http://annmap.picr.man.ac.uk)
