The world is so empty if one thinks only of
mountains, rivers and cities; but to know
someone here and there who thinks and
feels with us, and though distant, is close
to us in spirit - this makes the earth for us
an inhabited garden. [Goethe]
Bit of an oldtimer.
First Personal Computer was a 6800 evaluation kit. 128 bytes of ram and a whopping 1Kilobyte of Eprom.
The second was much bigger, a 12bit slice processor based on 3 181-chips and lots of discrete logic; all wirewrapped together on a piece of plywood. programming was in microcode. It actually worked :-))
I have programmed with punched cards and tape, and drawn ladders for process control (later we made a pascal program to let engineers draw the ladders on a screen).
I have programmed enough languages to think of them as families with slightly different members rather than distinct individuals.
And somehow I still think it is fun :-))
