More bioAn expert at the design and development of large enterprise data warehouse systems (100 million to 1 billion records and up) and operations systems (especially CRM and Medical Record Systems). Fluent in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Sybase, having worked with all 3 technologies continuously for over 20 years.
I cofounded Recombinant Data Corp in 2004 and since then have been focused on helping hospitals and pharma companies create systems for managing patient health and treating disease. Among other things, we support the open source Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside (i2b2). I have advised on i2b2 implementations at 5 academic medical centers and have personally managed 2 of these implementations. We have grown to 20 employees, so my time to help here is limited. I usually participate only on questions that are directed to me by moderators. I always find I learn from answering thanks to the contributions of the many excellent experts I have met in collaborations on EE.
Accomplishments:
Lead Financial Application Developer on the first Data Warehouse system in 1984 at Metaphor with Ralph Kimball. Created CallBack, the first Oracle-based Customer Relationship Management System, in 1986.
Created Viapoint, the first personal organizer to combine Mail, Files, and Web content in one place.
Quotes: "If we cannot get the computers to work for us, we will end up working for them".
"9 out of 10 times the answer is on the screen. The 10th time, it's not plugged in."
I am an expert on the subject of MSDE installation (as an embedded part of a product). If you post a question on that subject, feel free to contact me directly (I don't come here every day) to let me know you have posted a question here and I will try to help.
