ReFox is the most widely known decompiler out there, but is not a free download.  It is a commercial product.
http://www.hieroglyphix.co.uk/refox.php

I have no personal experience with UnFoxAll, but here is a link to download it:
http://www.vfptop.com/download/UnFoxAllPro30KG.rar

Please only use any decompiler on compiled software you legitimately own.  Decompilers are not meant to be tools to steal other people's work.

Why do you need the decompilers ? Are you trying to steal code ? Or you lost your code in all versions ?

How's that decompiler working out?

I am trying to use this solution and found none of these two links are working. I guess, they are too old and web links might have broken.

If someone post a tool that can be used for Free to decompile a .FXP file, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

no problem, i was just looking into this myself and google pointed me here. figured i would add that with a hint of sarcasm. fun fun.

how'd it work for you?
I heard that #DEFINE / Comments and possibly more are not recoverable.
I would assume comments would not be, they should be stripped.

I do not program in this, but i assume the #DEFINE are constants and if so the compiled software prob replaces all defined constants with what they were defined as not the variable name, which i would not see as a problem.

As for as my experience is concerned. It recovered everything. All the screens (for which source code is missing) we decompiled are modifyiable and were able to deliver the functionality originally defined and as well with modifications.

Over all. It worked pretty good. I would say it is worth the money. Of course if you have only one or two screens to decompile, it would be too expensive. In our case (www.USATInc.com), we have multiple clients and multiple projects and we use it often enough to justify the cost.

Thank You,

thanks for the feedback.

i was just asked by someone to recover a project of theirs, i was thinking of pointing them to this program as i have no interest in the vfp language / learning + re-writing it for them. I suppose it couldn't hurt for me to do it though, at worst it will be one more thing to know a bit about and that's not so bad.

I do agree with you. Yes, you do need some knowledge on software development using this tool. It does require some efforts depends on the size and complexity of the project.
Please feel free to let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Good Luck.

Thank You
