Using Foxpro Free Table Via ODBC Over Network Does Not Work, But Does Locally

Hi, here's my situatation:

I have a file called "zipcounts.dbf" that is on another server on our network. I mapped the directory that that file (and other free tables) are in to "U". in windows Xp, when i open the "U" drive, and double click on the file it opens up just fine.

So i create a System DSN in ODBC using the FoxPro driver, I select "free tables directory" and I give it a directory of "U". I try to access this ODBC via my php application and i get:

SQL error: [Microsoft][ODBC Visual FoxPro Driver]File 'zipcount.dbf' does not exist., SQL state S0002 in SQLExecDirect

My query is:

SELECT DISTINCT state FROM ZIPCOUNT ORDER BY state ASC

So, to test things, i copy the file zipcount.dbf in my "U" over to my "C" drive and update the System DSN. I try runing the php application again and everything works just fine.

any ideas?

Oh yeah, and here's what isn't an option for me: I need to use FoxPro, although i would personally use mysql for this, but i am supporting a legacy application so i cannot switch. And i would really like to keep this file over on the other server if possible.
