I have installed a :
Machine A: foxpro 6 database in a window2000 server.
And I have a:
Machine B: app server (running java) in a Linux RedHat 7.0 machine.
I want to know how to install a foxpro ODBC driver in the linux so that the java class in Machine B can connect to the Machine A foxpro database.
I know how to do it under windows platform (i.e. Machine B is running window platform) by setting the ODBC/dns in the "Control Panel". But I don't know how to configure it under linux.
Thanks
Vince

In order to get any connectivity driver to work, you must first have the one you need that works under the specific operating system it will run under. Windows ODBC drivers are everywhere for just about database we can imagine. But, for Linux, I'm sure the options are not as many. But, in fact, you need to find whether or not a FoxPro ODBC driver exists that will run under Linux and it won't be the Windows versions at all.
When you say you don't know how to configure a FoxPro ODBC driver, do you have one for Linux already or is the problem really that you can't configure what you don't have? If you have a Linux driver, whose is it?
The best place to look for many different ODBC drivers is here:
