Due to security restrictions, javascript only has access to the DOM of the page. If the GUID is present in there, it should be accessible. Though only from within the same domain.
I'm not familiar with CRM 3, do you know how the GUID is stored? is a session variabele, a cookie, a hidden variabele in a form?
