Microsoft CRM 4.0 configuration wizard

I have installed CRM for outlook on a new Dell laptop with Windows 7.  After the install, I ran the rollup 5 update for the client.  I started the configuration wizard, with outlook 2007 closed, and it hangs during the applying configuration stage.  The top bar says "Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook installer"  and the bottom bar says "Modifying address resolution search path".  Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Actually it was a security problem that was preventing CRM from being configured, however, I was able to get some very good information from the articles provided.

Can you expand on what the security issue was? I am having this same issue on a Win7 machine right now.
