Can't Install Dynamics CRM Client for Outlook 2010

A few days ago I installed the CRM client for MS Outlook and things were working perfectly. Then, all of a sudden, Outlook stopped showing the Dynamics CRM folder and the add-in seemed to be missing. I attempted to reconfigure the instance, which then led to Outlook giving me a message stating that it couldn't connect to the CRM server. So, I un-configured the client and then un-installed it completely from my laptop. I then went to reinstall it, and have yet to be successful.

The error message I'm currently getting is (at the installation stage): "Minimum version required: Internet Explorer v6.0.2800.1106. For additional details see logfile C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\crm40setup.log"

I have the most current version of IE installed on my laptop, but the client installer can't seem to detect it. I've tried everything I can think of (restarting PC, etc) and nothing has worked. I've included the complete logfile below. If anyone can help me figure this out, I'd be very appreciative. I'd really like to get the client reinstalled and working again.

This is a weird one. Have you successfully Windows Update recently?

Do you have other browsers installed?  If so, check that IE is set to the default browser.

Shreedhar: I'm trying this now, although I'm pretty sure that I've tried copying and launching the setup files from the local drive and got the same error, but I'm going to actually disconnect the other drives this time and see if that makes a difference. I'm worried that something in the Registry got messed up, because prior to this problem, I was able to re-install the client but Outlook gave me error messages stating it was unable to connect to the CRM server - which prompted me to attempt reinstalling again. This error message is the latest one, where the client won't install at all.
feridun: The only other browser I have is Google Chrome, but IE is set as the default browser.
Okay, I was able to finally get the client to install correctly, but I'm now back to getting the initial error message from within Outlook which prompted me to reinstall the client. I disabled the other drives, which got rid of the error message about IE not being installed. I was also able to configure the client, but it's just not working with Outlook.
The error message I'm now getting is this: "This folder can not be opened until Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook is enabled".
This error message appears when I try to click on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM folder in the navigation pane of Outlook. As far as I can tell, the client is enabled. In the options menu for Outlook, I've clicked on the COM Add-Ins and confirmed that there is a check mark next to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM add-in. I'm not sure what else I can do to "enable" the client/add-in.
Any ideas on how to proceed? I can also open up another question for this issue.

Do you have a CRM Dynamics Icon on the system tray ? If so, try right-clicking on that, you might have an option to Enable CRM.

The other thing  to try is to rerun the CRM configuration wizard to remove CRM, start up Outlook, close it and then re-run the configuration wizard. (This is different from removing CRM).
Yes, I've enabled the CRM Client using the icon in the system tray and that doesn't seem to fix the issues. Basically, the icon disappears and Outlook continues to give the same message.
I have to run to an appointment, but I'll try the configuration wizard again when I get back -although I've tried this before and it didn't seem to help, which is why I did a reinstall.
Thanks,
Nope, still getting the same error message in Outlook. I've re-run the configuration wizard several times to no avail.
Now, when Outlook opens, I get this message: "There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. The server might be unavailable. Try again later. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator".
The CRM server is up and running, and can be accessed from within the browser. I'm not sure what is going on here, but it's very frustrating.

Some questions:

Are you using the offline version of the crm client?
When you run the configuration wizard does it appear to complete succesfully?

What is the latest update rollup that you have applied? I suggest applying the latest - you will need to install Update Rollup 7 (if you haven't already done so) and then Update Rollup 11.
I ended up reverting back to a previous restore point and that resolved the issue. Thanks for all the help.
