I would like to add all the employees as "contacts" that work for a company in the "general" "tab" of the "account" "entity" Currently the "general" "tab" shows the "primary contact" only. When I go to the "attributes" for this "form" I notice that the "type" of "attribute" is listed as "lookup". However I am not able to select "lookup" when I create an "attribute". I am not sure if the "lookup" "type" has anything to do with this issue but that is where I hit a roadblock in my investigation. A solution is much appreciated and highly anticipated. Thank you.
You can only have one primary contact per account.
If you want to add multiple contacts to that account you have to add them from the left side navigation panel of the account. You could display all of the contacts associated with the account on the account form by making use of an iFrame , web page and grid display if you really wanted these displayed.
I do really want all "contacts" displayed with the same functionality as the "primary contact" ie: being able to click on it and have the contact open. You gave me a couple possible solutions above so please ellaborate on the one solution you think is most appropriate to solve my issue. Thank you.
There really is only one solution above but a suggestion of a different way of displaying them.
So, there's a side panel on the left of the account entity and on that is a Contacts link. If you click this a list of all the contacts associated with that account will be displayed. You can add new Contacts to the account from here.
In terms of display, I'm suggesting create an iFrame below the general section of the main Account tab and pass the URL of the Contacts display section to it. This will effectively display what you see when you click the Contacts link on the left of the Account entity in the main Account tab.
I created two test "accounts" (test1 and test2) I then created 3 unique "contacts" in each "account" I copied and pasted the url for each "contacts" view but noticed they are different. If I am making this a standardized "form" what would be the url?
Looks like we are close to a solution. Is there a way to make this the norm for all "accounts" because I do not want to show abc company's employees on all our accounts tab. I need each account to show their own employees and sub accounts only.
Actually Biffster007 I don't think this is going to work. Seems that the max size I can make the IFrame is about 4 colums wide the length is variable. I don't see how I am going to be able to see the contact information. I am new to this site but is having you assist me step by step via a messanger program allowed? Are people such as yourself compensated for providing solutions?
