How to open a Microsoft Money 2001 Backup in Microsoft Money 2007

My parents have recently updated their PC, and as such have purchased Office 2007 and Money 2007. I am currently in the process of copying over my parents old Money 2001 backup file. At present, from what I have found, you cannot do this as straight forward as I first thought. You apparently need to install MS Money 2005 or older to bring the files API settings up-to-date. Then you can open the file into MS Money 2007 or later.

The problem I have, is that my parents backup from MS Money 2001 will NOT open in MS Money 2003/2004/2005. I don't know if there is a 2002 version, if there is, I cannot seem to get a copy.

Does anyone else know of any other ways of updating the old 2001 backup file so that my parents can use MS Money 2007?Start Free Trial
