How to show page numbers on slides

Hello to all, I am getting frustrated trying to show the page numbers on my power point presentation....I go to "insert" then "header and footer" and in the "notes and handouts tab" I checked the "page number" option but I do not see the page number in any of the slides....Please help? Please look at th eurl below and you'll see what I get in the "preview window" I am not sure what it means but I think it is placing the page numbers below the slides in the notes page...but I want the numbers to show on the actual slides not on the notes age...Thanks so much
