Graphics are not showing in Word and Publisher, sometimes only graphics handlers. How ca I view all graphics properly? In publisher I already selected to view pictures in detail.

I need the graphics, photos and images to show in Microsoft Word and Publisher 2003. Even if I insert the pictures, I cannot see them on screen, only handlers will appear. I cannot work without seeing where the images are?
