How do you create a database based upon the database diagram of your visio document through visio?

depends on the version you are using:

Microsoft Office Visio Professional supports the reverse engineering features for the Database Model Diagram template (that is, using an existing database to create a model in Visio) but does not support forward engineering (that is, using a Visio database model to generate SQL code).


You can find the full suite of database modeling features, including both reverse engineering and forward engineering, in Visio for Enterprise Architects. Visio for Enterprise Architects is included in MSDN Premium Subscription, which is available with Visual Studio Professional and Visual Studio Team System role-based editions.

Visio Standard and Visio Professional cannot generate a database, such as a Microsoft Office Access or Microsoft SQL Server database, from a database model diagram. Nor can they update a physical database from changes that you make to your model diagrams.

What happened to the Generate and Update commands on the Database menu?

You said that you can create a data base with Visio Professional if you have Studio Professional. I have Visio 2005 Proffessional and Visual Studio 2005 and 2008. I had created a  EGR diagram  in Visio how can I combine these two applications to create a database base in my EGR Visio diagram?R diagram?
