I'm running Office 2007 Professional Plus. I received a Word document that contains embedded DWG and Visio (VSD) files. I can double-click the DWG files and they open fine using my copy of AutoCAD. I do not have Visio installed, but instead I have the Visio 2007 Viewer with SP1 installed. When I double-click the embedded VSD file I get an error saying:
"The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed."
I can open standalone VSD files just fine. I have done a repair installation of my Office suite, but it didn't help.
I know the entire Visio file is embedded in the Word document and not just a link to an external source. How can I open Visio files embedded in a Word document without having to purchase and install the full Visio program?
