works 8.5 with Vista, It wont open database files made with works 7.0..get error

I have works 8.5 with Vista, It wont open database files made with works 7.0 on a XP computer. I get an error mess. The files are fine and are not damaged. Is there a problem with the new works 8.5? I have 10 database files and they all open and work with 7.0, 8 of them get the error message with 8.5, 2 of them open up fine???? Doesnt make any senseStart Free Trial
