Excel when edited and saved send email its updated

Hi,

I am looking for an alart excel sheet that will be placed in our netowrk server, when any one saves the changes in excel sheet it automaticaly sends an email to group of emails "Excel file has been updated"

Hello alfannah1122,

As long as there is outlook account associated with the server or an account that can be used, then this should be possible using VBA.  Can you advise?

I would suggest CDO rather than http://www.rondebruin.nl/cdo.htmhttp://www.rondebruin.nl/cdo.htm. It avoids the Outlook warning plus it does not rely on Outlook being present

This code goes in the ThisWorkbook module of the workbook, it runs automatically on save ... if the workbook has macro enabled

Pls update this line with your SMTP server detials

You can write the macro that will send an email. But you can use http://workspace.officelive.com/ to store your files, invite collaborators and get notifications about changes like this http://screencast.com/t/ws8BY5jQ4. The files will stored at the Microsoft internet servers, so you will be able to open ones all places where internet and the office are present. You also get an ability to track versions of your files, view all document activity, etc. Please take a look at the Office Live screenshot http://screencast.com/t/vG2SypxA4Uy0.
