the first error is usally a corrupted installation/uninstallation of a previous program which used windows installer and was not removed completely, and using Windows Installer Cleanup utility to clean its entry should resolve the problem
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

but if you are getting the specified module error while running the utility too, then its due to another program conflicting with the install process, in most cases, its your antivirus or security application. uninstall it completely and then try out the above suggestion.

all the anti-virus software has been deleted/removed and still the same problem.  the cleanup utility will not install, gives me that 8007007E error message?

yes it is running.  another odd thing to add.  Outlook and Excel will not run.  Word and Powerpoint run.  when they start however, it shows the install window for 2 quick flashes, then loads.

Hi MLanning

Open Regedit
Navigate and Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
Using your Down Arrow Key in the left Pane, go through the list of GUIDS until you see Microsoft Office 2003 in the Right Pane.
Expand the <GUID>\SourceList\Net
for example 904020001E872D116BF00006799C897E\SourceList\Net

You should see a list starting with 1, this is where the installer is looking for files, you can either create another String Value called 2 and point to a different directory or change 1 to point to a different directory, when you do a repair it will go through the list until it fines the correct install.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Having a little trouble following.  Sorry.  I found the sting and not sure what I need to change it to?  It is listed as C:\MSOCache\All Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\.  I tried to take the MSO Cache out of the string to see if it would search for anything, but no luck.  What specific changes should I try.  Thanks in advance...

Hi MLanning

Sorry forgot to say copy the Office 2003 CD to a Folder Locally for e.g. C:\Windows\MSOffice than change the 1 string to point to C:\Windows\MSOffice

Cheers

Thanks for the update.  I went out and got "your uninstaller 2006" which had 2 free uninstalls.  Gave it a shot and it took out Office.  Reloaded it and works great.  Thanks for the help, anyhow.
