Delete button grayed out in Microsoft Outlook
For some reason, the delete button is grayed out in Microsoft Outlook. I cannot delete messages from the Inbox. However, I can delete messages in a subfolder of the inbox. This is extremely frustrating. Does anyone have a fix to this problem?
Are you using Exchange, IMAP or POP for this mailbox?

Thanks for quick responses! I have tried the potential solutions posted, but still no luck. I am trying to refrain from re-installing as this is a clients machine. It is using POP for the mailbox. In the field in the 'advanced bar' it says 'IMAP Messages' for the Inbox, where the subfolder just says 'Messages'. I cannot change the Inbox to reflect this either.
If you have not done so, creating a new profile is a quick fix.
If you are accessing an IMAP folder where you do not have Delete privileges, that would be the reason for the greyed out button, but there is some confusion as to whether POP or IMAP is being used.

Thanks war1, aside from still being a mystery, this worked as a workaround. Thanks again.
