So yes, I have now installed the SP1. Still no luck though.

Browse All TopicsHow do I go about searching for the Dollar sign character $, using Outlook 2007's Instant search field. It seems to pick up regular alphanumeric characters just fine, but not the '$'. I also tested it with another characters '?' and also got same results (i.e. none) even though I know for certain such characters exist in the folder.
I have indexed properly and the instant search will pick up other terms in same email. I never had a problem with this in my older version Outlook (2003) but since upgrading to 2007 now am having that porblem. Any help appreciated, going crazy with this.

When problems like this surface, you need to rebuild the search index. To do this, go to the Control Panel, System and Maintenance category, Indexing Options. From the Indexing options dialog, choose Advanced, then Rebuild. This will rebuild the instant search index and should fix most search problems.
Because rebuilding the index is a slow process that may use a lot of your system resources, you can use Advanced Find (Ctrl+Shift+F) until you have time to let the index rebuild.
