Why does my MS Access file become read-only when moved to a new computer?

Asked by HarryEBreaker in Microsoft Applications, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Access Database

I'm using MS Access at work. I have the .mdb file in a shared folder on my computer for other users to access. I've recently received a new computer, and when I move the .mdb file to the new computer's shared file, it becomes read-only on my co-worker's computers (it still operates as before on my machine). I've checked the properties of the shared folder that it's in as well as .mdb file itself, and can find nothing that is set for 'Read-Only'. Can anyone help?  Thanks!Start Free Trial
