Modify excel chart from MS Access VBA

Hi all,

This should be easy for me but it's not.
I'm opening an excel file from MS Access using VBA, late binding.
The excel file has 2 spreadsheets, sheet1, sheet2.
Both spreadsheets have a Chart.  
When i click my button, data get populated, the graph gets populated.  Works great.  

Here is the catch:

Sometimes the number of columns can increase or decrease which means i have to change the chart's source data accordingly.  Which i can do, i just need to know how to reference "Chart 1" from within MS Access?  

It shows up as a friggin shape in the "watch" window.

It doesn't work.  I get objec doesnt support this property or method.

If you want a reference to the chart itself:

wks.Chartobjects("Chart 1").Chart

where wks is the worksheet object.

I'm not creating a chart.  The chart is already in my excel file.  I just want to reference it to change the source data.

What code did you actually use? The worksheet object does have a Chartobjects property and the Chartobject does have a chart property, so I don't see how you could get a 438 error.

And here is my watch window.  As you can see there is no ChartObject in it.  Very wierd.

You need:

objwks.chartobjectS("Chart 1").Activate

not:

objwks.chartobject("Chart 1").Activate

though you don't actually need to activate the chart to manipulate it.
