The check box saying "Always ask before opening this
type
of file" is checked and grey'd out so I can't un-check it and stop the
message box coming up.
Does anyone know how to turn this feature off?
I have seen a possible solution for those on Windows XP to go into Windows
Explorer - Tools - Folder Options - Tile Types Tab, select extension type,
file

I think this behaviour is by design. I guess the problem is that Outlook stores a copy of the file on the harddisk, and it really doesn't know if it has changed or not, so it warns you "just in case". I agree that this is a problem, but there is no solution I am aware of.
