Outlook 2007 freezes forwarding email

Hi ... I've searched the knowledge base for problems related to this (Outlook 2007 freezes) and found the closest parallel here https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/25497491/Outlook-2007-Freezes.html?sfQueryTermInfo=1+2007+freez+outlook

The freezing I'm experiencing for the last few days occurs when I try to forward email and add email recipients. Outlook freezes and I have to restart it. I've followed the advice in the above link, except in trying to execute Scampst.exe, I don't know where the .pst files are (assuming this is a step I should execute?).

Hope this is clear. Thanks for any help -- you guys are great.

There are so many reason for this kind of problem, but mostly, OST file might got corrupted, Close outlook, delete OST file and reopen outlook, OST fillw will create automatically..

OST Path:
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Only Following Location

Delete OST file and reopen outlook.

That seems to have done the trick. Will test throughout the day and report by cob.
Meantime, looking at the second list above, anything problematic regarding number, file size, etc.?

What is the path of the above image?

also .. the Office Data File has not reappeared (see image) in the location you specified earlier, though Outlook appears to be working (fingers crossed). should I restore the file?

unfortunately, the solution appears to be only a partial fix ...
Outlook 2007 still freezing, but not specifically occuring when forwarding emails as described at top. Might there be an additional freeze-fix I can try? Thanks.

Are your connected to Exchange Server? If yes, can u disable Cache mode and try?

fyi -- the problem doesn't seem to have gone away at all
plz excuse my ignorance ... re: Exchange Server ... how can I tell if I'm connected?
btw --- I have Outlook Connector as an add-on, if that means anything

meantime, I was going to run the file integrity scanner and fixer ... http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA100758311033.aspx ... do you think it's worth a try?

removed Live mail accounts, uninstalled Outlook Connector, and deleted OST
will try for a day and see what happens ...

update ... above has definitely helped, though will continue testing Outook in other email accounts before declaring "victory"
I'm using Windows Live mail on my pc for the accounts I removed from Outlook ... no problems over there
what the heck is wrong with Outlook that is has these issues?

Outlook Connector itself having some problem, as bcoz it's still under beta.. :)

Outlook problem still there (freezing on email replies or forward). The next steps (repeated below) would be ...

After doing that, if the problem still there, then go to Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles & delete all existing profile. After that delete following folder entirely.
C:\Documents and Settings\Thomas Langan\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Then, open regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook delete the Outlook key.
Note:12.0 for Office 2007

Now, Open Outlook, and it will create all from starting, also will ask you for your exchange settings.

Above sounds drastic, but I'm willing to try it. I won't lose contacts or old emails by doing all that, right? Thanks for the assurance :)

what do you mean by "delete the Outlook key"? do you mean delete the Outlook directory at that location?

well, that appears to have done it ... it was kind of a drastic fix since I had to recreate all the email accounts, but Outlook appeas to be working properly again ... I can forward email without Outlook freezing!!!!
this may be too late to ask ... but I did back up everything (see pst backup below)
in what file would I find my Calendar information?

given how (apparently) corrupted my Outlook 2007 had become, it required these drastic measures to repair (i.e. almost starting from scratch) ... but I'd hoped there were less drastic ways to repair the problem.
I'm very disappointed in Outlook 2007 --- Windows Mail is better, not to mention Gmail.

What ever it is, Still we love to use MS Products.. :)

Note: U might give a try to Outlook 2010, it's cool.. :P
