hyper v machine with a few vm's remote desktop now losing connections

I am playing with setting up some hyper v vm's.  I am running vista on my desktop and was connecting to a few vm's on a 2008 box very well yesterday.  (I only have the hyper v machine and my desktop)  The hyper v machine has two network cards, one for itself and the other for a virtual network the vm's are on.  Today it keeps dropping the remote desktop session.  This is not over the internet, this is right next to me on the same lynksis router.

Any ideas how to diagnose or fix?

When you drop the RDP connection can you ping the system?

On your network adapters disable TCP Checksum, IP Checksum, TCP Offload and IP Offload. Make sure you don't have the network connection to go into Power Mode.

Make sure you don't have a duplicate MAC address on the network, i would suggest changing the MAC addresses on your vms. duplicate MAC address is the most common reason for packet loss. When you do a physical to virtual migration it keeps the same MAC address, and if you reformat and put the old physical server back into production it will have a duplicated MAC.

I had a similar issue.  Wasn't reliable using gigabit speed.  Forced the interface to run 100MBit and it runs consistently.  Are you running a gigabit switch by chance?  Might be a workaround until a solution surfaces which I would like to have as well.
