Primary .vhd corrupt

Virtual server 2005 R2 was running. crashed and now I get

An error occurred while attempting to access the virtual hard disk. The file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Shared Virtual Machines\rigor\rigor.vhd is not a valid virtual hard disk.

Can not log back on to server. Any recovery? Has any one recovered this using VMWare server?

You can try to import it into a VMware server with VMware converter.
But if the HD image (.vhd) is corrupted, the Converter will also not be able to import it.

Have you tried attaching it as a secondary HDD to an existing VM rather than a primary. Also, try VHDMount from Virtual Server R2 SP1 installation or you can also try WinImage.

It can parse VHDs with an Explorer-like interface.

WeHe responded first, however Barnit99 was closer to finding away to recover drive.
I was able to recover from weekly backup
