Move ESX VM TO Hyper-V Using SCVMM

Hi, I have an ESX server running two important VMs - a DC and Ex2K7.  I would like to install SCVMM on a separate server and use it to migrate the two VMs to a Hyper-V setup.  Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how to go about it?

It is possible to use SCVMM for this yes. There are wizards in SCVMM where you can choose to migrate the server over either by having the computer turned off and then migrate directly from ESX to Hyper-V. The other option is to migrate the server when it's online. There is a wizard for that as well. Would recommend the offline for Exchange, so you are sure to not loose mail or changes. SCVMM needs a DC, so you would have to install another DC, or migrate the DC online.

I would migrate everything offline, especially anything with database services, AD, DHCP, DNS< exchange, SQL. The transaction files get updated very quickly and you may be likely to loose the chk file. Offline migration of your only DC is not recommended but will work, i have done this several times.

you can use physical to virtual migration from SCVMM  !!! yes you can :)
and you can do it without need to turn off the ESX VM. which means you can choise the options to turn off the old VM after conversion it and start the new VM after conversion.

i had converted 32 VM using this method with out any issues :) only you need to run " ipconfig/registerdns" after migration.
also if the old VM use port 443 on IIS you have to clear it and then add it again after migration.
