Guest can't ping host .... sometimes

My host computer is running Windows 2008, firewall disabled. UAC turned off and running Virtual PC as administrator.
Runing Virtual PC 2004 because 2007 doesn't run on 2008.
Host OS is Windows 2003 R2, firewall disabled and has virtual tools installed.

I ping the Guest OS from the Host OS without any problems.
Every once in a while I can ping the Host from the Guest. I have also noticed that if I ping the guest from the host then I will be able to ping back from the guest for a little bit.
