The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Enable Intel VT - NO OPTION available IN the BIOS to Enable Hardware Virtulization

Asked by garyclarke27 in Microsoft Virtual Server, VMware, Windows Server 2008

Tags: Microsoft and VMWare, Hyper-V and Virtual PC and VMWare, Windows Server 2008, BIOS Problem

Hello I have major problem with Aspire 8930G - just spent over £3,200 on 2 of these top of the range machines with latest and greatest Intel T9400 Core 2 Duo Processors - which is definatly has VT capability (we desperatly need to run Hyper -V) Acer has decided in their infinite wisdom not to include an option in the BIOS to enable VT. Tried Acer support 3 times but could not get through to anyone intelligent enough to understand my problem - they kept asking me if it was agraphics issue !! also one of them actually said that he had never heard of anyone tryimg to run Virtual Images on a laptop !!!
I could not believe this option was not available in the BIOS of a brand new model - we have been running Virtual PC for years - for the last 2 years every laptop I have seen (Toshiba, Samsung and Dell has had this option).
We are stuffed without this option, so we are willing to try any hack whatever the risk - Calling all Gurus who like a challange - please help ??? Thanks very much if you can help Gary
