Refresh UpdatePanel via JavaScript cause a full postback

Hi,

at my side I use a UpdatePanel and a TreeView.
The links of the TreeView are just JavaScript calls I add to programmatically when the page is load, eg.: root.NavigateUrl = "javascript:UpdPanelUpdate('" + id + "');";

The UpdatePanel looks like this:
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel0" runat="server" OnLoad="UpdatePanel0_Load">

I found that sample to just refresh the UpdatePanel using JavaScript somewhere in the net:
function UpdPanelUpdate(id) {
__doPostBack("<%= UpdatePanel0.ClientID %>", id);
}

But when the JavaScript is executed from a click of the TreeView there'll ever be a full page callback.

Any idea what I do wrong?
