The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Need a "more elegant" electronic signature solution

Asked by newbieweb in .Net Editors & IDEs, Miscellaneous Security, Encryption for Network Security

I have a new job as a web developer working under an architect who has asked me to find a more 'elegant' electronic signature solution for this Human Resources program we are currently updating. I do not yet know what technology they curently use, but hope to have some nice options by morning.

The program is a bonus program used by upper management and involves privacy and security, and most importantly, money.  They use this system to approve bonuses.  So we need a solution that is very secure, but I assume, since we are working on a very tight deadline, not terribly difficult to program.

Could you all please give me ideas of what technologies fill this role?  I have worked with AES encryption and found it incredibly easy to use, since I am no cryptologist.  Is there also a possible solution using AES? (Pardon me if that's a dumb question!)

I actually have no idea of what goes into an electronic signature so do not know if there's any relationship to encryption.   Could public key / private key be an option?  If so, please advise how I could get access to the code to make this a reality, etc. And for any technology you recommend, please give some way that I can assess the difficulty of using it.

Hope to hear from you....

We use C#.NET, .NET Framework 2.0, with Castle.ActiveRecord, AJAX, NHibernate, Rhino.Igloo, Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2000.

Thanks,
newbieweb
