The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. CSV file reading only specific columns and writing to Data Set c#

Hi Experts,

I have some code I am using where I split a comma delimited file (originally and excel sheet) into columns to insert into a table via dataset. Now I need to modify the code so that I can choose to read specific columns only from the file and insert into the corresponding dataset column

so lets say my file looks like this
header1,header2,header3,header4,header5
info1,info2,info3,info4,info5

Now lets say I only want column with header3 and header5 so I would only want to load the data under those two columns. I thought about counting commas and looping for each row, but with the huge files I am using having upwards of 20 thousand rows, I was wondering if that is the best method to use. Of course I would know in advance which header names will be used.
