No web config

Good afternoon expert,

Created a web site in Visual Studio 2205 using C#. Worked well for several days.
Today when I checked it in the browser I got The beige screen with trhe red font\
saying

Server Error in '/Wte_kb' Application.

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

So I went to the web site in Visual Studio and there was no web.config. I didn't think a
web site would run without web.config. So I copied a web.config from another web site
into the root of the web site. Now I get
Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable.  Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

How can I fix this? Where did the web.config go?
