Insert button on DetailsView not working when used with ModalPopupExtender

I have a DetailsView that has the insert button enabled, it lives in a panel that has a ModalPoupExtender on it. I have a ASP button on the screen that in its click even I use The .Show() method on the extender all works well but when I click Insert on the DetailView Nothing Happens.

It appears that the ItemCommand does not fire.

How can I get the InsertButton to fire / insert data?

Have you checked Sql Profiler to see if the Sql is being run?

It's not that the connection is bad it's the submit on the Detailsview is not active due to the Modalpopup Extender
