Using Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS.dll without installing SQL Server Management Studio.

I have written an application which programatically imports data from an Access database into a SQL Server database using DTS. The program runs correctly on my own computer but when I run it from a computer that does not have SQL Server Management Studio installed, the application fails with the message "Could not load file or assembly Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS."

Can I install the ManagedDTS.dll on to other computers without having to install the management studio?

You will need to bundle that dll with your application as well at the .Net framework.  Any reference that you are using will also need to be bundled to use your program on another machine.  If you are selling this app make sure you are following the MS right and re-dist  policy.

Sorry, I think this is probably a stupid question but how do I do that?

Would I need to place the dll in the program folder or would I need to place it in the same location on the destination computer as it is on mine?

I'm not selling the application so that isn't a problem.

It depends on how you are using it.  Placing the dll in the same directory as the exe should work fine for you.
