Browse All TopicsHi everyone,
So I need to find out if a date entered is a Sunday. If it is, I gotta do something special with this data. I'm not sure if Datepart will help or how to use it effectively to extract if it's a Sunday or if it's 1st day of the week (well if the week starts at Sunday).
Any help? Thanks.

I'd like to mention that the result of rrjegan17's solution depends on the datefirst setting. By default the first day of the week is Sunday (on US-English servers).
You can verify what the first day of the week is on your system by running SELECT @@DATEFIRST.
And you can use SET DATEFIRST x (where x is a number between 1 and 7) to alter the first day of the week for the current session.
