The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Issue in a nutshell....


PeopleSoft Application ... 14 Gig Database ... Server has 3.6 Gig of RAM, SQL Server Is allowed 1.7 Gig.

SQL server, without actually doing anything uses approx 1.6 Gig of RAM for simply holding most recently used data.  So when any relatively heavy query/process comes down... the system starts paging like crazy.


I'm not a DBA so I'm not real keen on what I should be doing to correct this.  I am, however, the owner of the PeopelSoft application and I need to come up with concrete proof that the real DBA's need to do something, or I need tune my application better.

I think the application needs to be tuned, but PeopleSoft Global support is at a loss for helping me so now I'm wondering if it really is the database.

Any help out there?
