The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Counting the appearace of item

Asked by tosalam_khan in MS SQL Server

We have got an approx of 20,000 items in our inventory, here we will rank items based upon its usage in the sales order or job order per year. Like if the item is used in each month of the year it is given a rank of "M" and if it is used in 9-11 months they will rank it as "H9" and so on. Here i don't want the total count of items in each individual month what i need to get is whether the items is sold or used in the job_card or sales order for a month of the year irrespective of  its quantity whether it is 1 or 1000 we should consider it as 1 if not 0.
I want to write a single query to get the count of items like if the item has appeared in january & febrauary then 2 like wise if it has appeared in three months then 3. i can get the count of items for individual month but for that i have to run the query for each item 12 times by giving the from and to date of a month which will take a very long time as we have got an approx of 20,000 items.
