Replication was not replicating

Hi folks,

I have a transactional replication between two databases, that worked fine for more than one year, but something weird happened today:
- The replication was not replicating but the agents was apparently running fine!

The solution I found was to run snapshot agent. Worked fine, but I want to know why it happened!
Anyone knows anything about this problem?
Is this a feature or bug?
How can I prevent it to happen again in the future?
