The Solution Rating System

Convert varchar string to decimal

Hi Experts

I have a SP that creates a varchar(200) string that creates from a table entry such as (A+(0.75*B)) a string such as (0.093000000000+(0.75*0.004087939911))

I now need to evaluate this string and store the resultant decimal value (0.096065948
)

I've tried the CAST statement as in CAST(@E as decimal(24,18)) where @E = (0.093000000000+(0.75*0.004087939911)) and get the error Server: Msg 8114, Level 16, State 5, Line 96
Error converting data type varchar to numeric.
