disappearing records

Hi folks
I have a database that keeps losing records from a table. I say losing because I removed the delete functionality from the application. the on delete trigger was never run and delete access was implicitly removed from all the users and roles but it still keeps happening. I have now set deny on deletes to all users and roles.
I'm wondering if it could be a transaction log issue. the users occasionaly dip the server during the day. The transaction log bask up has not succeded since early september.
I was never any good at the DBA stuff so any help would be great.
