Bit of a pain, the replication is needed 24x7 and changes occur to the database almost daily.
Is there no way around it?

Browse All TopicsI have two SQL Servers, SQL01 and SQL02, I have a database on SQL01 that has been replicated (snapshot) and push published to SQL02 (the subscriber).
When I attempt to make changes on SQL01 I get the following error:
'AccTyp' table
- Unable to modify table.
ODBC error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot add columns to table 'AccTyp' because it is being published for merge replication.
So.... should I be able to make changes to a database that is being replicated? And if so what is the process?

one solution is to delete the replication and recreate it after you add the column on the table.
