Error 832 in mssqlsystemresource.mdf

Hello Experts,

Just noticed an error in the application event log of our local development server, which is running MS SQL Server 2005.  It's event 832, and it's occurring at intervals of approximately 8, 16, or 24 minutes.  It's been happening for a couple of days.  Here's the text of the message:

A page that should have been constant has changed (expected checksum: 4f22f397, actual checksum: 4f22f3e7, database 32767, file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\MSSQL\DATA\mssqlsystemresource.mdf', page (1:417)). This usually indicates a memory failure or other hardware or OS corruption.

I see no other obvious symptoms of memory failure or OS corruption.  I'm finding very scant data on either error 832 or the mssqlsystemresource database (which seems to be shrouded in mystery).

Can anyone please provide any additional diagnostic ideas or links to other information?

Thank you in advance!

Rob

Kobe,
I am telling about dbcc commands. I am asking him to see whether the disk drive which he is storing that .mdf file is defragmented. Restarting I hope he should have already done it :))

Thank you both... yes, I did restart the server--error persists.  ;-)  I ran a defrag last night... I will be back in the office on Monday to see if it changed anything.

Kobe, thank you for the documentation tip.  I didn't find the reference, but will seek it again on Monday.

Thanks again for your input.  I'll report back.
You can also (as a final resort, and if you have a spare drive) move the mssqlsystemresource to another drive (preferably fysical connected to the machine).
Try here for the steps to move it to another disk.

You were both of great help--thank you--so I'm splitting the points.

San Spy's suggestion to defragment the disk turned out to be the step that fixed the problems, oddly enough.  I don't understand why that is, but I'll accept the outcome!
