The log file for database 'tempdb' is full

Asked by traigo in MS SQL Server

Tags: database, file, up, full, tempdb

When running a query after attaching a database, I get the following error:
The log file for database 'tempdb' is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space.

I have 2 drives, c: which is small and runs the OS, and a 136gb RAID 5 that holds the actual database I attached.  I checked the logs and the database.  The database and tempdb are set for unrestricted growth.  I have 3gb free on c: where tempdb is located.  Do I need to move tempdb to my D:?  How do I correct this?

Thanks,
