The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. I have some data (~500k records) that looks like this:

ID      Distance ArrivalTime
24      0.289      2000-01-01 06:29:00.000
25      0.193      NULL
26      0.299      NULL
27      0.131      NULL
28      0.444      NULL
29      0.16      NULL
30      0.665      NULL
31      0.186      2000-01-01 06:33:00.000

And I'm trying to develop a process that interpolates the ArrivalTime for those that have a valule of NULL based on the distance and ArrivalTimes between the nearest records above and below..

ie:
ArrivalTime for ID = 25:
(Distance for 25 / Sum Distance for IDs 25-30) * (ArrivalTime for ID 31-ArrivalTime for ID 24)

I have managed to get it to work with a cursor, but the process takes about 3hrs.

I'm sure there *must* be a better way..

Ideas?
