The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Need help writing SQL Query

Asked by Tpaul_10 in MS SQL Server

Experts,

I need help to get results out ot my table
Here is what my table rows looks like
When a policy comes in to my table (name : Details) it looks like following

PolicyNumber- EffetiveDate- ExpirationDate,
1234-00            20050101     20060101
1236-00            20050301     20060301
1233-01            20050401     20060401
1237-00            20060301     20070301
etc

When the policy renewed my details table looks like following (same Policy number add 01,02 at the end)

PolicyNumber- EffetiveDate- ExpirationDate,
1234-01            20060101     20070101
1236-01            20060301     20070301
1233-02            20060401     20070401

So, I need to get a list of policies whose policy range between (20050101 -20060101) and whether the policyhas been renewd or not (Renewd means same policynumber with an increase at the end like 01,02 etc) (if it is renewed i should say get the new policy number as well)

So my output should be like following

PolicyNumber, EffectiveDateofExpiringpolicynumber ,RenewalPolicyNumber ,EffectiveDateofRenewedpolicynumber, Renewed

1234-00      20050101                               1234-01             20060101                          Y

This is kinda urgent, please help me out to write the query

Thanks much
