The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Recursive Stored Procedures

Hi,
I have two tables that's a one to many relationship.  I would like to create a third table that's basically a summary of these.  The Parent table contains like 1.3 Million Records while the other contains around 110 Million Records.

I'd like to set up a stored procedure to call itself to parse this, however I have a problem:

Create Procedure Foo
  @Param1 int,
  @Param2 varchar(1)
As
Begin
  -- Pseudo
  Create Temp Table...
  Insert into Temp Table [Query]

  if (rowcount > 25)
   Begin
      Create Cursor
      While @@Fetch_status = 0
        Begin
            exec Foo
        End
      Drop Cursor
   End  
   Drop Table
End

I can get the first row to insert correctly, however I tried to create a dynamic named cursor since it appears that my logic has been flawed.  It says that it's still open and if I try to execute create a new one, it says that it doesn't exist.  I'd like the fastest way possible to accomplish this.
