The Solution Rating System

How to prevent the transaction log from becoming full, resulting in an error/site disabled.

I'm receiving the following error: The transaction log for database 'mydb' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases

I'm using SQL Server 2005 Express

How can I implement a backup plan for the DB that manages the transaction log from filling up.

So far the only way I've been able to keep the site up is by restarting the server when the error occurs.

It doesn't seem like MS has graphical tool to manage backs on the DB. Are 3rd party applications available?

It would be great if the answer this questions explain a long-term backup solution that would prevent this full transaction log from occuring.

A realll nice thing to know is if there was a way to be warned that the log is filling up. Is there a feature to keep the log rotating on some set amount of HD space, so the site doesn't essentially break?
