I am wondering if there are any implications about adjusting the maximum memory setting in sql server 2005. Currently the machine has 4gb of (windows 2003 server) ram and is set to use 1.7 gb. Besides sql server nothing else of any real value runs on that machine. I want to beef the total memory that is available to the sql server instance from 1.7gb to around 3.5 gb.
Can anyone give there opinions as to if this is the correct approach or is there any other changes that I can make to improve the performance?
